i am actually so impressed with it that i am trying to get two of my friends (we are all car nuts) to chip in to share it. I figure it isnt something i need to drive all the time and would not mind a time share with it. One said he is in, but, i need the other to justify the cost to my wife and to myself. We will see. It is going to be a pain to bring it here as i am finding out from the calls to the epa and dot....not impossible though...It would come in pieces and be registered as an assembled car...kinda like a cobra kit car is registered or the Noble cars...

Damn,

That surpasses my Mini with a Vtec craving I had.

Driving the Atom in Texas trafic may give you the oppertunity to see the underside of a Hummer

Sounds like a great idea bradr, could we impose on you and keep it at your house?

I would need to build another garage for it as i would think it would dot do well outside for too long?

I would'nt want one for the street. Way to fast and dangerous let alone impractical. The track is where that car belongs. Putting that car on the street would be like having a greyhound for a pet when living in an apartment.

The track would preferably be like the one in the vid with grass runoff for days.

How tough is it to import when it's not going to be registered?

Evo wasn't as favorable to the atom as the video suggests. Granted, they said that it was a sweet car, but if memory serves me correct, they picked the Catherham Superlight over it (Bike engined/Sequential Gearbox 7 replica). I would kill for either as a track whore though, please don't get me wrong.

Well, highest power to weight of any production car. At about 40k pounds, it's well worth it.

Btw, it's also street legal in the US. The restrictions are very limited due to the car's low curb weight.

Both shows are great. I like Tiff and the chick from 5th Gear, but all three of the guys from Top Gear are awesome.

5th Gear is shown on Speed channel (I don't have speed anymore, but I heard it was coming last fall, I think) I don't think Top Gear is shown in the states, but you can download pretty much every episode from the last year or two and several of the DVD's if you are patient. You can get them on file sharing networks if you use them.

I've got about 15 gigs of car videos and about 2/3s of that are Top and 5th Gear.

I watch Top Gear solely for the jokes. If I wan't to actually educate myself, I read C/D.

There are two Atoms in the neighborhood. The epitome of evil looking overpowered insectoid transportation.... I like it!
