Leaked Official Cayman Picture
Sorry, not sure which would have been the best forum for this, but I ran across what is supposed to be an official Cayman S picture. Looks legit to me. What do you think?

If it is official the side vents look way to Toyota for my tastes. But you know what I'll probably give it a test drive. And better yet I'll wait for a magazine article about some tuner (Ruf, Rennsport, 9ff, etc) squeezing a twin turbo 996/997 911 engine into it.

Its a shame because no matter how good it could be, they will make it a lesser performer compared to the 997. They don't want a cheaper car to outperform the higher end ones.

My guess is that car will blow any stock 997 off the track everywhere but on long straights. A mid-engined Boxter with full coupe rigidity... I'm definately going to look at one!

Looks pretty cool. I can't wait to see it in person. Is it going to be a 2007 model because the 06 models are coming pretty quickly.

There is a rumor on rennlist that the official pictures are going to be released tomorrow...So we may not have to wait to long to see the back side.
It looks good, in my opinion. It's different enough from the 987, so that I don't immediately think Boxster coupe (some people may feel otherwise). |

Looks OK, I agree the side vents are a little too "stylish" for my taste. Heres to an RS america version of it, same power train less options, lower price......dream on??

I've heard that in 2007 they're going to come out with a cabriolet version. I'm psyched.

What are we complaining about? Porsche is again building top performing sports car and they're getting back into factory backed racing.
I just wish they would have the P2 car ready for Road America. Me? I'm headed for Le Mans in '06 just in case they decide to build a P1 car that will kick some Audi ass. Oh yea, Webber was on the podium today. Alright!!! It was 1,2,3 for German cars All of Australia and Germany will have a hangover tomorrow.

RUF already has done the Boxster. Has a 3.4 in it, IIRC and runs circles around the larger cars (except his). And true to what most of you guys think about the Boxster being a woman's car, Alois Ruf's wife helped design the RUF Boxster.

I have a strange feeling this car is going to capture that nimble small sports car feel the old 911 had and less of the bloated GT powerhouse 997
