Cayman Brochure from Dealer

Well, finally did it. Got the Cayman Brochure from the local Palm Beach Dealer.

This car looks hot! Some of the detailing (such as the stiching along the instrument necelle) is gorgeous, and the exterior is VERY reminiscent of the 904.

And when someone actually puts a 911 engine into that bad boy, it should be faster than the 997.

Anyone order one yet?

We had our monthly PCA meeting on Monday and the local dealer rep brought several brochures, it was great to see the smiles from everyone as they flipped thru the pages this car is very nice looking!! And after looking at the interior it looks like Porsche will hit a homerun with this car. I guess the purists will nitpick it to death just like the Boxster but you can't please everybody. I personally can't buy a new one but a lease turn in may be 3 years down the road for me.

I just got the brochure yesterday and its awesome. If my income was different, it would be an easy yes.

The brochures just came out and someone is already planning an engine swap. I like that . I like the look of the car, I just wish the had named it something else. the name is terrible.

Does it have a designation number we can call it instead of the Cayman?

I wonder how roomy the interior is. I barely fit in an SC, anything tighter wouldn't work.

I've seen it referred to as the "C7". Someone will have to verify this. Corvette anyone?

Definitely get PICS!!!

I'd run down to the Porsche dealer, but they'd probably turn their noses up at me because I'd drive up in a Hyundai.

My dream is in 4-5 years, I'll be able to find a used Cayman... w00t!

I think I like it...but is it me, or is it reminiscent of an RX-8, at certain angles?

I got the brochure and showed the wife. She said "oh, I like that. Why don't you sell the Infiniti and order one?"

She's nuts - but in a good way!

(We are in escrow for a new home. Nobody in this family is buying cars - let alone Porsche's - for a long while.)

Someone needs to tell that driver not to rest his foot on the brake pedal when driving

I am on the wait list at a Porsche dealer for one of these..... Just not sure how I am going to pay for it when the time comes . I will have to "rearrange" my current car situation.
I can't wait. It looks like it will be a blast....
FYI- it is 4 seconds faster around the test track than the 997.

The roofline, quarter windows and rear haunches look fantastic.

Not crazy about the side vents though. They need a diffferent grille for them.

My SC, $10K, paid for.
The Cayman, $50K, a downpayment on a small house (not in CA).

Sorry, I'll stay with my SC. The fact that it needs no water is just another plus.

I will own one, now the only question is when. Based on my current porsche, model year + 29yrs then i buy it. So 2035 and one of those babies is all mine...I may try to pull that up a few years, not as patient as i used to be.
