3.6 conversion guys - Show me your engine fuse box
I am on the last steps of the 3.6 conversion. I would like to replace the engine fuse/relays box with the one of the 993.
I saw some of you guys have done this already, but I have always seen pictures of the installed box (closed). Could you please show me how you installed the components inside the box?? Thanks PS: here some pictures of the 3.6 Vario engine almost ready to drop in. ![]() ![]()

there is nothing inside the box except connections for the DME to the engine. If you need me too I can open it up and post a pic, it's not pretty. Ingo and Harald did the install and it works well as I am able to pull the engine with ease as everything is basic connections.

Now, what do I need to keep?
If I am correct, I can delete the voltage regulator, the CD box (thing with the fins), the condenser as well as the heater relay (crossed in pictures). Can i also get rid of all the associated wires (e.g. black and white connectors on the pic)? What about the fuses? The top one has only one wire conected on 1 side and nothing on the other. Can I gerid of this one? Under the fuses there are 3 flat plug conectors which seem to be conecting the heater relay, condenser, etc. Can I also delete them? Thanks again,

If you add the 3.6 internal panel you can clean things up a bit

Nice looking motor. I see you have stock HE's. What are you going to use for exhaust?
Just curious...

Thanks a lot for the info.
Todd, I see that you kept the heater relay (I think that's what the large silver cube is!!) Do i need to keep it? What about the condenser? What is it for? Do I need it?

Thanks Bill. It was actually cleaner when I still had 964 injection. The larger connector on the 993 injection clutters it up a bit.
![]() Mario, The large silver relay is the rear defrost relay. I guess it is up to you whether you think you need to keep it. Not sure what condensor you are referring to. If it is the black cylinder on the 3.6 harness, I didn't keep it. Todd

Thanks Todd,
What you you using as a support for the different components? It looks like some kind of aluminum piece, but it doesn't seems to be the stock one, is it?

The aluminum piece is the stock internal panel from a 964 fuse box.
