What are the vents in the front fender for?

Hi there,

For a while I have been wondering what these (see pic) are for, they are located behind the right front wheel. Car is a 1978sc,

Thanks,

Gerko

For 911s equipped with a gas heater those were combustion air inlets – hot air exhaust.

Best,
Grady

Gerko - would you like to change the title of your post to "vents in front fender well" or something - so people can find it easier?

- Thanks for clearing that up, Grady - it was vague question in my mind too. I never checked to see if they are open on all cars (non-heater equipped) - if so, should they be sealed up do you think?
