more than fun. It's probably the biggest 356 informal get together in the whole US that's a day and night affair. Maybe 75-100 guys in tents and campers bs'ing about 356 parts and track, although I did find out the best free diving area for halibut in Alaska. The swap meet is pretty good for prices. I bought a Snap-On 9/16 open end for .75 and a like new '72-'73 Tech Spec booklet for $20. The out-of-state guys are mostly from west of the Rockys. I guess the car show is on Sunday and is loaded with those 356 Outlaws.

Do a sun dance Scott! Weather permitting, I'll be bringing my car up on Saturday. I spent 6 hours yesterday giving her a fresh bellyfull of Mobil One and making sure her bottom side looked good. Later today, I start on the fun parts...the areas above the rocker strips. If it rains? I'll still go up, to get the rubber chicken I paid for. Oh, to head off the guys who preach the "gotta drive it regardless of weather"? I'll do just that if it rains Saturday...right after I get firm commitments from the same guys to come down here and spend a few days detailing the car's bottom again. You see, the more past 60 I get, the less fun it is to put the car on jackstands and crawl under. But I still like to keep that area at least street clean if not concours. That's because no matter how low in the weeds the suspension is set,
there's always a guy who will do this:

Anybody care to guess who the looky-Lou is?

Paul,

That may be my usual attire and pose, I think that is too recent a picture to be me.

Best,
Grady

Hi Scott,
I can't make it this year due to a bunch of work to do. A few guys from the Southern Chapter (Jim Sheffle, etc) will be showing up. Jim will be in Rhubarb which is an Aubergine 356 coupe. Beautiful car down to the last detail. It used to be Dave Hammond's car.

How's your car coming along anyway?

Have fun. Maybe I'll make it next year.

Troy-
My car is making good, solid, glacial progress. I'm affraid it'll be a no-show for yet another year. Good to hear that your area will be represented. I'll be scouring the swap meet for parts and elsewhere for inspiration.

Paul-
Rain is shceduled as a 30% chance for Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. So, if you drive up Saturday morning and leave Sunday afternoon, you'll be set!

I should add that, in recent years, the 911 content of the event has been strong.

As of 7:30 Saturday morn, the Yahoo forecast has changed to no rain today...soon, we'll be pulling out of here in the P-car. Gotta have my coffee & shower first though!

when you enter there may be a group of campers 3/4 down on right passed the meet area. Hopefully will be a group with a sun awning and a few chairs. The guy's name is Larry, I think, from Burbank Calif. He has a 356 & 911 shop there. He does the campout every yr and I lost his contact info. He's an informal master of cermonies among the small group around his site and a real sweet heart. Say hello for me and get his info if possible. I lost it.
