Help! 3.2 won't start

Here's the symptoms -

Turn the key, turn overs, fires, and dies in a few seconds. Sometimes hange on for a few more seconds. Almost like a stuck choke in the old days, or an engine that's flooded.

Here's my theory - I'm a hack and I don't want prejudice any opinions but here goes.

While replacing the all four shocks in my car. by my typical method ,( insufficient tools, no lift, no air wrench, and little eperience) I think I damaged the connector to the CH temp sensor.

While wrestling with the left side top shock nut, I looked down and saw the white connector for the CHTS hanging loose. I plugged it back in and forgot about it.

Feeling the connector boot, it seems like there might be a damaged wire inside.

Would a disconnected CHTS cause these no start symtoms?

CHTS replced with the newer version previously. Can I splice the wires after I look under the boot?

Anything other ideas?

( Care was running great before the shocks)

Inputs appreciated.

More info -

- disconnected the CHTS connector in the engine bay, the car started and ran for about 10 seconds. Would not restart.

- plugged the CHTS in again and the car started and ran. However the Idle was low and erratic.

INputs appreciated.

What has me confused is that it actually STARTS and runs a little. If you were to say it turns over but does not actually starts I'd say you had the same problem as me which was a nearly invisible broken solder in the DME unit itself. I don't know what would stop spark or fuel delivery a few seconds after a car starts. Sorry I'm not more help.

Buck,

I think waht happened after I disconnected it was that it ran on the fuel built up form the previous flood condition.

When I plugeed the CHT back in, I may have a partial connection and the signal or lack thereof tells the DME to pump excessive fuel, hence the rough idle, seems to rev fine.

No feel for the power since it didn't get out of the garage.

Gerry
