Question Installing a Engine Compartment Sound Mat

Does Anyone Know if there is an easy way to install a new engine compartment sound mat on a 1985 Porsche 911 Targa Carrera with out removing the engine? Mine is falling apart and I see Pelican parts sells a replacement.

some remove stuff on top of the engine; others do a "partial drop"

many threads if you search

A partial drop will make this job a lot easier. Just dropping the engine a few inches really makes a dramatic difference.

Partial engine drop is the way to go! Very easy and you can inspect/replace hoses, fuel lines, clamps, etc... while you're in there! Replacing the rear motor mounts and rear shocks is very easy with the engine dropped about 6 inches also!
