Maybe a 916 clone or Beck Spyder.
But pleased to have the SC for now. Markus 80 SC Targa |

Dreamin'
Gee.........only one comes to mind, same car for the last how many years, one ride in Monty Sheltons 906 back in 1968 or 69.
Heck, I would get rid of the 911 for a 906. Go figure? Randy Jones 1971 911 "Iris" PS..........a Kurtis Kraft / Offy midget would take me back to the other side of my vivid childhood racin' memorys. |

928! That's what I have, and I love it. They can be very costly to own if you buy one with issues. But if you pay a little premium and get one that's been well cared for and in great shape, it will be a very rewarding car to have and maintenance will be quite reasonable. The GTS is going to cost a bundle, but you can pick up a great S4 for about the price of a G50 Carrera. Since I bought my 928, the 911 has gotten less attention. It's very addicting and will blow the doors off a 911 of the same vintage, even in the corners. It has a much better power/weight ratio and 50/50 weight distribution. And it's comfy!

I'm pretty happy with the SC, it's a lot of bang for the buck.
But if I wanted another type of thrill it would probably be a Street Rod / Muscle car for variety. |

Well the midyear 911 kind of lacks civility and comfort. The miata can be described in the same way no? So I would recommend a car that has even less civility and comfort than the midyear. Something exotic and racy. Early turbo? Replica 550/904/RS?

For me it would be a 993 C4s so I could extend the 911 experience beyond non-rainy days between May & November. Plus I just love that wide bottom.
or a 993 Targa as I love the practicality of the rear hatch and I could still use it year round with the exception of a few days when the roads are just to slippery to risk it. INHO the 993 is the best looking post impact bumper 911; and it's still air-cooled

If we're just dreaming and going all hypothetical here, I'd love to have an original 935 for a track car. Nice big old twin turbo with the original whale tail.
Nice and big, raw, and unrefined... kind of like me. ![]() |

I have a 72 with a 3.2, tricked suspension and brakes with rs flares, some 9" rears and 7" front tires. It's an absolute gas to drive, on and off the track. If I was to pruchase a second car it would be a cab, maybe a boxster.

I'd like a cayman or a boxter, for dependability during the times when the SC is not running up to par. Not sure which I would have, Like the convertable but the with some modifications I think the cayman might have more potential?

An early 911, 930, or a Boxster were all considerations of mine but I opted for a 914. My 911 is mostly stock and I wanted a car I could continually tweek that would not cost a lot. A turbo fit the "continually tweeking" category, but was not in the budget. A 914 is a good option on a limited budget and has endless upgrade opportunities - and they are getting pretty rare.
Here is my latest project ... ![]() ![]()

If we are talking a daily driver, a Cayman might be nice.
Track car - a 74 RSR or a clone with a 3.6 would be fine. Plus an aluminum trailer, plus a diesel dually tow vehicle, spares, and more importantly a suitcase full of $100 bills so I could afford to take it out to the track!!!!!! Don

First of all, I need a bigger garage because mine is only a two - holer and my wife won't park her BMW outside. That aside, I'm thinking a late 996 coupe, black or dark metallic blue, as the daily driver to compliment my beautiful black cab.
My Tahoe would probably have to be used as a down payment though. Believe it or not, I'm actually thinking about it...maybe in a year or two. |
