Help removing headlights

OK, surely this is something simple I am overlooking. I have H4 headlights and cannot figure out how to remove them.

I have removed the rings.
There are 2 screws on each light that I can see. One at approximately 2 o'clock and the other at aproximately 8 o'clock. Both turn freely in each direction without much resistance.

What next?

Once you loosen those two screws it should pop off. The headlight itself is also held on by a small lip underneath the headlight ring. Try lifting up and out with the headlight assembly while wiggling it back and forth to loosen it.

what Jon T said...mine are held on by a single screw @ 6 o'clock,and once removed you might have to push in and up to remove the housing w/ring....I don't think that you have to mess w/those 2 screws @ 2 and 8 (not sure though since I don't have the Xtra ring)

You only need to release the srew at 6 o'clock - it shouldnn't come out completely. the other 2 are to adjust the beam

Ditto Jappy and Phil. You should be able to unhook the light after you loosen the 6 o'clock screw. If you have changed the orientation of the others you will have to reaim the light.

is your 6 o'clock screw... a screw w/in a screw?? what I'm saying is that if you have the extra ring, there should be a screw that screws into the head of the 6 o'clock screw that holds the trim ring into the headlight bucket. It's hard to tell your pic is a little close but I can see the adjusting screws and just barely make out the 6 o'clock screw?

I'll try to find some pics of my headlight bucket and maybe that will give a better pic of what your dealing w/

AFIK, that shouldn't be the case. The S w/i a S is for ring covers whick also cover the adjusting screws. (At least the ones I have seen do.) You should be able to go back to a single screw. Pelican has them for not too much money.
