Ozz,

Good work!

How are you finding the Rennshifter? Looks a simple bolt on application. How has it improved things?

Simon

Very nice - Only thing I would change would be maybe the rings around the headlights, black was the OG color. Might as well go with H4's while your at it. Other then that, I am very envious.

Simon,

The Rennshifter is working out great and is a simple bolt in installation with just a few adjustments. It has reduced shifter throw and has a very positive feel going between gears as well as a nice reverse lockout. In the past, I'd miss a (down) shift from time to time and I've been running this shifter since May and haven't missed a shift yet!! I'm very pleased with it.

bigrubberjeep - thanks for the heads up on the headlight ring color!

Question - how did your roll bar mount to the car?

Awesome!

Am I right believing they only made 12 IROC 911īs for that Championship ! And that among others Mark Donahue drove them ?

They must be immensely collectible today. Anyone know how much an original would be worth ?

livi - they made 14 in total. I've seen a couple running around SVRA events so, I'm guessing they are collectible but, not Barrett-Jackson collectible if you know what I mean. Just guessing here.

Bigrubberjeep - I see you pulled up my brake cooling thread from this time last year too - ah the memories of the frigid garage.

In any case, mine is a Saftey Devices cage - the main roll bar hoop mounts to the longitudinals of the car. They provide steel plates bent to conform to the longitudinas with 4 welded nuts per plate. You set the hoop (and the rest of the cage), mark and place the nut plates, drill holes to allow nuts to drop into the holes and the plate to sit relatively flush. I used JB weld to "tack" the plates in place with the entire cage installed to be sure all would line up later. Took the cage out, had the plates welded to the car and reinstalled the cage. Getting 16 bolts to line up with the welded plates and nuts was a PITA but, eventaully got it done. Hope this helps.

dave - No, I didn't get to that last season and hope to so this spring. I'll update this thread when I get the results.

great car. How does it run? I've got almost the same engine but only 9.3:1 and weber 40s w/ 36mm venturi...plenty of carb for the motor.

Mine too is twin plugged but don't need it yet.

jtkkz - The roll cage is from Saftey Devices for a 911 coupe. The folks at Stable Energies can give you all the info.

jmz - runs great and pulls strong from about 3500 to redline at 7000 The car is way faster than the driver . For now anyway.

Only issue has been that I've had trouble with the fuel pump in the rear of the car. I've used both Carter and Mallory pumps and have not had great reliability with either (needs to be closer to the tank) so I decided to put a fuel cell in it this year over the winter with a Walbro pump and scavange box in the cell. A little safer maybe given I have all glass bumper up front and, the pump being in the tank ought to resolve my fuel pressure problems.
