Part identification, oil filter mount? - Picture

A pretty obvious piece, it is bolted to the oil tank by three allen head bolts and the oil filter screws on to the other side (the top of the part in the picture). I need to replace this part; it seems a previous owner got a little too excited with the oil filter and cracked one of the bolt shafts in this piece which leaks copious amounts of oil when running. What do you call this part? What would be a part number (if needed)? Lastly, where can I get one for a reasonable price? If it helps the car is a 73 911T 2.4 7R. Thank you in advance for helping out. -Jason

Jason-

It seems like I've seen this called the oil filter console??? I have one from a 71 if you need it. It looks the same as the one in the pic, but we'd have to check to make sure. Have you found any part # on yours?

Ok, I took some measurements. Both the inlet and outlet are about 15mm in diameter and there is a filter bypass that consists of a plastic plug sitting up top of a spring. There is one big o-ring seal on the side that mounts to the oil tank. Lastly the bolt holes about 120 degrees apart.

There are no makings on the part that would help identify it (part number or other wise)

Does that look like your part?

Thanks,

Jason

For a '73 T, that is part# 901 107 025 00

It is called a console.

Hi Jason,

Here are the pics of what I have. It had some pretty good corrosion around the edge that meets the tank, but it seem to be in usable condition. It could probably use a better O-ring. See if you think it looks the same as yours.

Steve,

Looks like the parts have a different thread for the oil filter. Up to 71 they use an OC-61 filter and 72-73 use an OC-54 filter. Maybe the console would still work if I swapped the adapter the oil filter threads onto, but at the moment I do not have a socket deep enough that size to remove it. More than likely I am SOL on getting the older part to work.

Thanks for helping out Steve.

Jason,

I thought yours looked like a larger thread, but thought maybe it was just the angle of the pic.
