Oh...it seems that I will make it too!! My first one since I moved up here!!!
|
Scott: Don't forget the $10.- entry fee for the pool; either a poker hand or a high-performance-citation, whichever comes first. :D
Maybe one of the Ladies can administer the pool. Any volunteers? Guess where this is? I know it looks like Bate's motel but it's free and there is lots of parking. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123416342.jpg Ah, the open road; only six more sleeps: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123417536.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1123418227.jpg |
Not to monkey wrench the whole smeezle, BUT thar' aint much'n to do if you pass out in Ellensberg for a night.
I mean school's out so there's an entertainment vacuum (no college girls!). The one GOOD pub is east of Cle-Elum I think, and the accomodations?...who knows! You know ellensberg is basically a truckstop this time of year right? (no offense to natives) BUT if you come thru Wenatchee there's the river, lots of parks, 2 of the bigger hotels have bars in them, and I can set you up at this place: www.shaktisfinedining.com (*I know the owners) Then there's terrorizing the locals in Leavenworth, nothing beats that! And lots of whineries local to Wenatchee these days too, I can tell them to be ready. Camping would be tough, if anyone is still considering it- all campsites booked solid and its like an oven here the last couple weeks. Im here if you guys want me to make any calls or check anything out! Bob O **I think I can get Shakti to let us have the lounge for the whole evening (usually charges $500 for the reservation), it fits about 20 people comfortably, and get an okay deal on some eats. Just depends on what you guys were up for. http://www.tunacan.net/t4/owners/pics/bobo02.jpg |
Hey guys-
FYI, I've cross posted this as an event on our PCA-CWR website, link here: http://pca.jeffgrant.com/index.php?module=calendar&calendar[view]=event&id=18 I actually may be able to make it now, as my car won't go into the shop for another week. As long as you guys don't mind a little deer hair and it being held together with a little Tuck Tape. ;) |

Cool...cannot wait for the details!!!
|
And stopping in Wenatchee makes the drive sunday a little more interesting. The drive from ellensberg is either 1 hr on I-90 or down and over THE PASS (Mt Ranier), which is another 5 hrs, but nice.
You could fill yer bellies Saturday at our place in Wenatchee, relax that evening, check out some w(h)ine on Sunday or leavenworth, splash around a little and make a day of it driving home... eh? ....eh? Gimme the thumbs up and a pretty firm count and I'll call the West Coast Center about a group rate! Bob O rollerton@charter.net |
Bump.
Any more details guys? Like a start location and time? |
Yeah, what Drago said.
I'd like to come down for the start, meet and greet, take a few snaps and maybe pick up a valve adjustment tool from Island. ;) |
Meeting point will be Krispy Kreme in Burlington (take exit 230 - SR20). Go East on SR20 two blocks to Burlington Blvd., then take a right, you can't miss it.
Still working on a time, but departure will likely be around 8 am. |
Scott-
Is this the spot you're talking about? http://www.google.com/maps?q=krispy+kreme&spn=0.021405,0.050187&near=Bur lington,+WA+98233&cid=48478577,-122334490,163729571493856234&num=4&start=0&hl=en |

I'm all over it:
Wenatchee: Value inn- 11 rooms left saturday night, 6- (single) queen@ $63.00 and 5 (2)queen beds @ $72.00 (nice guy too, may be able to get that down a few bucks more) West Coast Center : waiting for call back on group rate Best Western $109 for queen Suite, and 5 rooms left- hung up on me 3 times then got snobby. La quinta : waiting for call back. Will update soon! Just need numbers to confirm if you're in! |
Good stuff! I am all for getting rolling even before 8:00 AM; just get your arse out of bed earlier. And no Pow-Wow and wasting time on a Kaffee-Klatsch at Krispy Kreme either. :(
The Mayor of Ellensburg is upset about comments made here. In case you don't know, Bob Hope (RIP) and Rosemary Clooney thought it to be the jewel of central WA. Even Bill Hayley performed there once and Doris Day stayed one night. W.C. Fields and H.L. Mencken had a special spot for Ellensburg because of the high morals displayed by it's inhabitants; no Wet-T-Shirt contests here! Scott: Who will administer the secret SCWDP slushfund? Drago: Will you enforce the $10.- admission fee? :p |
"no Wet-T-Shirt contests" !? :(. . well forget that place, then.
Wenatchee is it.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/beerchug.gif Thankyou Ghost! And West Coast Center looks like it's just a block away from Shaktis. Gunter; No pow-wow? .. you need to change Somatic Negative Optimist to Somatic Negative Socialite  |
Just need numbers and.....what time will we be there?
Chck into the _____ Hotel (TBD) at about...5 or so, freshen up.. so, The coast has a place (bar -restarant) on the top floor. Some "amusing" late night entertainment for sure. Also a POOL that we can easily have command of. Shakti wants to know if / and how many will actually want dinner. See, she cooks every damn dinner from scratch, so knowing how many will want a full dinner and not just nibblers helps her out (and helps me...she can yell). More info as I get it. Bob O ps. Island : pm'd you my info, and Sent it to Dane not long ago about a campout..just keep me posted and I'll watch here. |
