3.2 ZERO idle ?

Good Morning,

84 3.2

Got in the car this am. Turned the key. Fired right up. But no idle. Drops to Zero. Revs just fine.

This thing has run flawlessly since I bought it. Never misses a beat. Has anyone seen this before ?

Garage
Could it be be the idle stabilizer valve sticking or the off idle switch not being tripped?

I agree with Chris. Take it off and shake it back and forth, The plunger inside should move freely. If not clean it with Isopropal alcohol. Make sure you make orientation marks before disassembly.

Thanks, I was thinking the same thing. I live on a dirt road. I'm thinking maybe dust might be getting into it. Plus the hill to my driveway has some severe washboards ( like 5 mph ) right now.
Maybe the connector jarred loose.
My kid knocked the VR on one of the 914's out of it's socket on the relay board.

I remember tinkering with when I got the car 5 years ago.

Mine idles at 900.

Usually, I twist the key. No feet. Kicks over and idles at 900, smooth as a sewing machine.

So whatever I find will be a black or white issue.
