Targa Vertical Window Channel Felt Question

Description Reads

This is the felt channel that guides the window as it is raised. It is attached to the post that sticks up from the middle of the door.

Targa Vertical Window Channel Felt, left or right
Front, 911 (1978-89),
Rear, 911 (1987-89)

Looks like my 85 has the felt along the rear of the vertical window channel, am I misunderstanding something here? Will the 87-89 rear fit? Here is the link, product 79.

Can't answer your question (car is at home and I'm not). Give the guys at Pelican a call - they're always very helpful and can tell you what you need. Looks like there is only one part # and for $7.10 doesn't look like you can go very wrong. Besides, the call is free.

As an aside, if you need to remove the window from the door to do this, be sure to mark the window frame's location so you can reinstall and get a good seal with the Targa roof.

Which part on your car are you referring to? If you are talking about the torn canvas on the targa bar that guides the inside of the window out side of the door, this is actually the rear targa seal and quite expensive.

The Pelican part is refering the channel in the wing window. There is only one window channel Hell for $7 that's all you are going to get.

There is no rear vertical channel on a Targa.

The ugly canvas covered thingy on the Targa bar is major bucks for what it is. Your's look normal. Faded/worn.

Just recover it with some sort of fabric or dye it with black liquid shoe polish. Anything looks better than what Porsche did to it.

If it doesn't leak, you're out of oil.

If you took a picture of a Porsche and put it in your shirt pocket it would leak oil on your shirt.

Screw Flanders....

Thanks for advice, I thought that looked cheap in comparison to most the other targa seal stuff.
