mayby some 1X4's between the towhook and a-arm mounts... then a 2x4? I think the point is that you want to spread the load while jacking, and then support the car further out to make it stable.

Other option is to lift one side at a time with the jacking plate and lift the entire car. Then just put some blocks at the A arrows to spread the load when its on stands.

If you're planning to R&R the front suspension, then you can't use the "A" area for jack stands. However, you can lift from there. For this operation, I'd support the vehicle with jack stands under a 2x4/2x6 spanned across the "C" dimension.

Since many cars are too low in front, lift one side from the jack receiver to get it high enough In order to roll your jack and a 2x4 under "A". I use a HF hydraulic scissors jack from the side (w/lift adapter) to gain height before using the floor jack.

Make sure the car is rock steady before you allow your body underneath. Redundant safety stands/jacks are good for one's confidence.

Hope this helps,
Sherwood

Thanks Bernie and Sherwood. Appreciate the help. I will lift by "A" (with a 2x2 probably) then use a 2x4 or 2x6 + jackstands @ "C".
