Got to spend a little time behind the wheel of a GT3 yesterday...

I still have the biggest smile on my face.. So I get in and the owner warns me.. First and foremost NO TRACTION CONTROL.... LOL I come back with "Don't worry, I will be very gentle" his reply... WHY...DRIVE IT LIKE ITS MEANT TO BE DRIVEN I still took it easy, but the ride he gave and the feel behind the wheel is just addicting Jay

The most fun I have is to let other Drivers ie ZO6, 350Z, Miata, MR2, etc. take a pass at an AutoX with my GT3. The smile on their face is enough to ruin the rest of the day in their other car. I have had several friends refuse to drive the GT3 as they are afraid they would mortage the house, sell the wife to purchase one. Peter Who needs to get faster on the 2nd day

I got 2 instructor laps at a DE in a GT3 2 weeks ago, and I got out of the car talking about calling the bank for a loan... I didn't even need to drive it!

Yeah its amazing. Its funny I picked up my SC and was a bit shocked at how mellow it was compared to my S4..So I start getting used to it(how it handles the crazy shifting and so on) become extremely excited about it, and then comes along the GT3...lol Just a completely different animal. And I do have one more space open in the garage..lol

I know personally of 2 GT3's wrecked this weekend at DE's. Sound like the "no traction control" feature is great for the experienced driver, but offers little to those new to high speed driving. Nothing as depressing as seeing a new one crumpled.

To get your car in a position to wreck it; I don't think having traction control will mean it will save you... Wrecking a car usually involves some serious speed; traction control isn't a sky-hook so regardless of having TC or not, drive within your capabilities (not the cars capabilities).....or die.

I'd have to argue the opposite. The car spun at turn and hit thewall back-wards, not at high speeds. Computer management systems definitely interferes with the connection between driver and roads, but for some this may be just enough for them to save the car. Driving a GT3 at its limits is best left for those only with significant experience or signficant ability. Driving a GT3 far below its limits still can produce a car that is amazingly quick.

Kevin Next time we are at the same event no problem. I will probably do one more Savannah event this year and maybe a Whitehouse depending on the date. I will warn you that you will never look at your T the same way. Peter

Isn't it a car designed for an experienced driver? If you stuff any car into the wall or trees at a DE, odds are you were going to fast for your abilities to save you. That said, PSM is amazing and will save you in a lot of situations. Jeff

I'm like, at a DE you are there to improve your skills, not see how often the TC light stays on for....regardless of the car you are driving, if the TC is on then you are doing something the car doesn't agree with....if it wasn't for the light you will probably not notice the black box kicking in. So if you don't have TC then you will 'feel' the car getting funky and next time round you will take a different line, speed or whatever, hence avoiding you getting into trouble. What I am saying is TC 'encourages' you to beyond your limits and when you take things beyond the cars limits, then that is where these guys are crashing their cars.

A couple years ago, a friend tossed me the keys to his GT2... I have bought many lottery tickets, since.

...And, much to my chagrin, the GT3 is cleaning up in SCCA GT-2 this season.
