Hey those wheels look familiar.
I have a set coming for a 90 964 C4 that I'm back dating to a 73 RSR look.
They will be red too.

Now!

Soon!

this is basically a FAQ. The issue is that the 964 and later hubs are in a different place, so you can have custom offset fuchs made (lindseys for instance) but they just don't look right IMO. to "fix" this, you'd have to mess around with the 993 hubs and you probably don't want to get into that project.

check out the article in this thread, the silver one is a 964:

Idea for new/project car: 964 C2 backdate?

I guess the rears look ok but this is a full widebody. fronts look downright goofy IMHO.

Wow! That's what I doing right now But it's a C4 to RSR.
Great info Man!
Here is what 12s and 10 look on a C2 we did a few years ago.
The rears look deep the fronts look about the depth of a 8" wide Fuch. I think it will do OK.

I like them, and thank you for doing the second set - I appreciate that. However, my issue with them is they look like someone did a body update on an SC. Maybe if the whole car were tweaked, a different color - like the 993 with a ducktail - they would look appropriate. I certainly like the idea, and have actually asked it myself a couple of times. I think it could be done really well with some attention to detail and to the whole package appearance.

I think that car looks really good. the design of the wheel makes a difference to the looks. nice package overall! Will the C4 to RSR still be 4WD?

That car is HAULIN' Check out the hood! Great pic, great car.

I don't know if the Lindsey's would look good on a stock 993. I don't think you could get a deep enough offset to get the same effect as an early car.

I'm actually shocked that a Fuch would look so shallow on a "wide body" 964. I would expect that look on a regular C2 with Fuchs, but would have thought the extra fender width would have partially compensated for the hub thicness and at least give a deep 6" Fuch appearance.

I agree that is a cool pic but my guess is the hood was pernmanantly deformed to that shape. That is turn one at Sebring which in a well tweeked well driven 964 is probably 90-100 mph. There is some time available in that corner of one has cohones grande.

KobaltBlau: Thanks!
Yes, The C4RSR will retain the all wheel drive.

Don:
The C2 race car was HAULIN'! But it deformed down the strait and in that corner it was making that much down force to still hold it down. It came back up in the slower corners.
The hood is a skin and we added a stiffener after that.

Cool.....Don, I have noticed in numerous posts that you build some beautiful equipment. Very nice work.

Are you coming down to Sebring for the vintage weekend in October?

As good as Fuchs look, I think they are a classic style design not suited to later cars. They'd just look weird on any of the plastic / round bumpered later cars.

I think it has great potential for an "outlaw" look. Now, one more request for the "retro" guys... How about grafting a 2.7 Carrera Duck Tail on this baby!
