new muffler--OH WOW
Just got back from installing a Flowmaster muffler on my 86 911 and all I can say is WOW. I could'nt get the smile off my face the whole trip home. It really does make the 911 a true sounding sports car now. On the highway, its just a little bit louder. But around town, it says "oh yea, there's a little bit more from that car than meets the eye". If you want any info, just write me.

I just got back from dinner with my bride. She even said it sounded good. I asked her if she wanted to take a ride to Chicago, but she said no. How about Layfette, NO. I said if she wont come along, I might just go myself.I just need to drive. There a many great mufflers out there to buy, but right now, with a new room addition, I just could not see laying out 500 big for one. I got the muffler for 30.00,(used) spent 50.00 to put it on, and I will NEVER take it off. Its a flowmaster, one in, dual out. Just cap of the one end, and it flows just fine. " Oh Haha" got me on to this set-up. and I must thank him. What a great low-end growl, and in 2nd-3rd gear, it does scream

You are welcome.
![]() If you guys want a little quieter version than Flowmaster, try the Flo-Pro. About the same price but a bit quieter because of some packing material. EDIT: No offense meant to Ben. I, like alot of others here, just can't spend 400.00+ on a muffler. If I didn't find the least expensive way to modify the 911, I would have to leave it stock.

None taken The flowmaster is a good cheap alternative and trust me I am in the same boat . My car is basically stock asside from efi and my muffler along with msd ignition. Can't afford the big engines etc.. That is the main reason I made my muffler and it has snow balled from there.. Have fun

Ben, I did see your muffler on a car at the BRIC last july and have to say it is a great muffler and very well made. The sound was a little to quiet for me. After having side pipes and headers on my old corvettes in the 70's-80's, I just love the sound of open and very loud exhaust. I am still asking the wife if she wants to take a ride, but she's tired. Oh well, there's always another day.

Strup,
Drive that baby up to Michigan, I 'll go for a drive with you today. I have been going by myself since our little one was born 2 years ago. Good therapy, though.
