Help ordering speed/reference/Cylinder Head Temperature Sensors

It has been a year since I rebuilt my 1984, 911, ROW, engine and at that time I did not replace these sensors. The sensors are the speed, reference, and cylinder head temperature sensors.

The plastic plugs have since disintegrated (yeah I knew they would since they plastic was already in bad shape…). I currently have them siliconed and taped to hold them together (it has been working now for six months).

It is time to replace these items, but I am a little confused about what to purchase. I have read that Pelican calls these Impulse Senders C-606-215-01 (OEM: 911-606-215-01), but there are no pictures to verify this. Also when going to the parts page I see a Timing Mark Sender C-606-108-00 (OEM: 911-606-108-00) (again no picture) so I don’t know if this is something I should replace also.

The picture for the Cylinder Head Temp Sensor that Pelican offers does not show the large plastic plug that has disintegrated. This worries me. Is there another part I need.

The sensors will come with plugs. A simple call to the order desk will answer this for you...

I should have mentioned I did try to call last week. They were not able to help me when I mentioned speed and reference sensors.

I was hoping that this Great BBS could clear up my confusion (I am not being sarcastic).

The parts will come just like they are on the car now. The only difference is that the cylinder head temp sensor will have two wires in the sheath. You will have to look closely to notice. This is an updated part with an additional ground wire, it still plugs in the same way to the harness on the side of the intake manifold. The impulse sensors, as you probably know, are both the same and are interchangable, just make sure you have them connected the correct plug on the harness, a mistake that has been made many times, myself included. The timing mark sensor, if it looks okay, probably will not need to be replaced, but it is only 50 something bucks so if you are unsure of its condition it is probably not a bad idea to do it.

The pic in the link you posted is an error in the catalogue. It will look like the one on your car now.

Hope this helps a little more

No worries, my first reply was probably a little unhelpful!

Cheers
