New to Porsche, already a problem (part 2)

Thanks for the support and advice once again...I feel like a true member in the Porsche world after completing a few projects.

I have purchased "101 Projects". Invaluable information here and in that book. I love the car. Its a blast to drive and the looks! you get...wow. I have done a mini-tune up. Plugs, dist. cap, and rotor button. I replaced the shifter cup, rod bushing, and the bushings in the rear coupler (tough without a press). The shifting is light years better but it is still popping out of second gear.

The second gear syncro...I believe is worn out. I think I will change the trans fluid with an easy to find gear oil. Drive it for a few hundred miles then replace with the Swepco 201. Maybe a good flushing with help. Any other good advice to help a worn out transmission would be appreciated.

Thanks Eric

I even got my XM reciever hooked up this weekend. Piece a cake!

Hi Eric,

If you wanna read the essence of misery when it comes to changing gear lube - go to my current thread "Giving up on gear lube change". Plenty of great advice and a good example of how fantastically helpful and supportive the guys on this forum are !

(Mind you I am not implying you don΄t know how to change gear lube - just that the thread could be worth reading).

Cheers,
