dielectric grease in bulb socket?

Can it be used there? Just tying to prevent corrosion and another bulb from breaking off in the socket.

Thanks,

Carnut-
I used last time I replaced some bulbs. I was having a problem with a ground and figured it couldn't hurt.

I think it will do what you are looking for. It will lube the base and socket while preventing water from getting in. All the while not interferring with conductivity. I use it in sockets in all the lamps on all the cars. You could have knocked me with a feather when the cashier said 20 bucks for a 4 oz tube!

Find a product called "Super Lube" in the grease form (not spray). It comes in 4oz tubes, 16oz tubs, and 5lb canisters. Great product to have around for door hinges, bulbs, latches, plug wires etc.

A product for this purpose...!

Lubriplate make a contact cleaner, lubricant, corrosion inhibitor.

I use it on every contact and have had excellent success.

I have even heard it makes a British car more reliable. And that is not easy to do.
