The driver would not have faired much better than the passenger...the forces that must have been present to bend the car like that would have been exerted on the driver's neck & internal organs as well. At least the airbags deployed, hopefully giving them a fighting chance.

At what speed does the tail deploy, 55? It was up, so I'm assuming it crashed at least at that speed right? Ouch.

The tail on my 996 deploys at 74 MPH I don't know about the older cars,

I have one word for ya. BONDO Slap a little of that stuff on there a bit of sanding, some paint and bingo your back in business. That car will be ready to sell on Ebay.

Hey, a frame jig will straighten that thing right out. No problem!

Wow!! I'm trying to figure out how the driver did that. Hopefully the occupants were OK. Ya never know with accidents. I had a wreck in a Nissan PU about 18 years ago where you would've thought the driver (me) would've been gravely injured. Not a scratch, but my truck looked like a pretzel.

well, it doesn't go back down until the car goes under 5mph so you really can't base the crash speed on the wing.
