Cats
Hey what year did cat convertors become standard for 911's? I just got a 930 roller and am putting a 3.2 in it and was wondering if I need to have a catalytic convertor on the engine?

By law, anything starting with 1973 must have a "kitty litter converter" to be legal. If your state doesn't do emissions testing then you can prob slide without one.
On a side note, why put a 3.2 in a Turbo Roller?

Did they need one to bring a euro into the country ?? Easy, it's a track car that I'd like to get my license in next year, so I can beat the hell out of it, I won't have a ton of money tied up , and I can keep my other 930 without worrying about crashing it at the track.

First 911 to use a cat was the '78 SC
When doing a t/p the laws generally expect the emission control dvices of the engine, not the chassis.

Here in New Hampster, it's not that complicated. My guess is I can get away without one..
