Project 993, part #1. (here we go again...)

Well I couldnt go without a p-car for long. I picked up my next project today, a 95 993 that was clipped in the front.

It does not have a motor or interior.

I have a donor front tub in case I need it, and it came with one fender and hood. AND, it has Big Reds on it, and I got some complete Bilstien w/Eibach coil overs also.

Should be really straight forward. It is already at the body shop to get the front fixed. Then it comes home for me to figure out all the harnesses and brackets, bolts, etc...

Here are some pics..

What a great opportunity to get a nice clean front end

As opposed to the more usual US m&#239t wart look

Hey, bill that is a nice look. Im leaning toward the gt2 look. Or something like john colosantes 993. As far as the motor, im either going with a 993 3.6 or leaning towards a 965 (C2T) engine.

or i do like this..

How about a backdated (2.7 RS/RSR) front end - fenders, bumper, hood all avail in fiberglass. Don't know if it's been done with a 993 backend. I think it might be kinda beatchin-any Photoshop guru's out there that can take a whack at that look??

Yes, me too. But thats not what I was referring too. Get rid of the black warts between the turn signals and the fogs.

I think that eventually I'll replace the fogs w/ scoops

That wing.....that thing is just huge, cant get used to it. Everything else is great, is there a "lighter" looking wing option. Maybe a 996 GT3 look wing. That GT2 wind looks so bulky!

Dude, you dont like the SuperCup tail? (rs/cs)?

Well, i'll only need it if I go with the turbo motor, for intercooler clearance issues. Othwerwise Ill leave the factory motorized tail, or go with a ducktail or one like this..

That tail on the yellow car you show. I dont know, to me it looks....fat. The duck looks cool but some how not quite right with the modern shape. I guess I really like the 993s tail-less. Its a great look. Not sure if it will work with the front end treatment. If I had a 993 I would put a duck on it I believe. Depends on the car color maybe?

Count me as a vote for the 965 engine. RWD air cooled turbo with 993 looks and rear suspension

Given the choice, it would become a 993 RS 3.8.
