late model RS
I'm just wondering how hard is it to get 964, 993, and even gt3 RS's in the USA. There was a 993 RS and a couple of GT3 RS's at the Porsche Parade this year w US plates.
I'm aware of the 964 carrera cup cars that Andial brought in, but what I'm talking about are real RS's. Would love to find out how this works. Dave Here is a pic. of the 993 RS ![]() And the gt3 RS ![]()

Yes I understand expensive. Even in Europe they are expensive. HOW do you bring them in and make them legal.

I imagine if you do get one over here its going to be preatty tied down, as in restricted to tracks or car shows and thats about it. But im far from an expert on this.

This site has a lot of good information on importation of the 964 and 993 RS models. They will also help you find and convert an RS car for importation.
http://www.euro-rs.com/importFAQ.htm You can blame a number of things on Bush these days but this is not one of them. ![]()

Great website. Thanks for the info. This helps a bunch. No purchase in the near furture, but allows me to plan properly,
Dave My problem is for roughly the same money I can purchase a 964 carrera cup car that is already legal in the states. And it is basically an RS. livi, We did not get them due to stange DOT rules. Porsche had said at a certain point that the US was not going to be denied models (around the realease of the 996 GT2) but that has not held true, we still can't get the GT3 RS From a dealer that is.

I agree when you add up all the costs of the car, conversion, shipping, duty, and the poor exchange rate it makes sense to consider a 964 Cup car (you have to like white cars though

try Larry Miller at Cars International, Stuttgart. He may have some info on getting them to the U.S.
