Question on R&I windsheild

I search a little found some not so clear info and the latest one didnt answer what I was wondering. Solo windshield install...easy!

It comes out easy enough. what kinda of rope did you use that worked best and what kind of lube can I susbstitue for special glass lube..windex?? has anyone glued the glass to the moulding? to keep it still why you fit it in the opening? are there any more tricks? Like set it in the groove in the bottom and pull the rope from the top or vise versa?
