yep, I could live with those wheels. This is helping to convince me to sell my car and buy a 964. If I ever really regret the move I can always go back. Anybody done an IROC backdate on one of these?

Shuie: I'm with you. Although I'm leaning toward the 964 RS style, stripped, cage, etc. A lot of fun for prices that are getting better every year.

I don't think that chassis is a 964 one.
It looks like a earlyer one.
Perhaps a turbo one by the looks of the offsets of the wheels.
The area down at the rockers isn't right for a 964.
The lower section under the body is deeper on the 964 body.
Notice that the jack point recever is there.
On a 964 there is no recever for the jack.
The jack pads that are on a 964 aren't there eather.
Unless they installed the jack point and removed the jack pads.
On the pic of the front end the spoiler covers the front of the chassis.
We have found the that the RSR bumper/spoilerwill not cover the whole front end. Its about 2" short.
I will have to install the added lower spliter to cover it.

Thats a very good eye Don. I've found these on the net, and I remember it said it was based on a 964 RS, but from what you state you know better ;-)
Is the front chassis on a 964 deeper than the 911s ?

Yes, Sir it deeper by about 2"or more.
I will have to install the lower spliter to cover it.

This is actually a 2.8 RSR replica,based on a 2.7 from 1977, with a 3.8 320 HP engine, 964 RS tranny, 950 kg in total, RSR brakes, sold by mcg-propulsion for 55000 euro (In France). If your interested www.mcg-propulsion.com

Funny thing is, it's been on sale for a while and they cannot get it sold...

Well MadJack has the rear turbo flares on and in primer.
He welded them on and then used a metal type filler.
It's the new hot ticket stuff now days. After he did the base filler he used a little regulator filler but just a little.
I got the flares from Bill at Restoration Design and they fit great. He is a very nice guy too!
Jack cleaned it real well and then he shot it with the etching primer.
Then after it dried he shot on a build up primer that will be mostly sanded back off.
He got out a can of flat black paint and sprayed it a little.
This is called a guide coat. When it sanded and all the black is gone the panel is all flat and ready for paint. The guide coat shows you when you have all the low and high places out of the panel.
Dan has the front fenders under way. He has the fender wells cut out and ready to weld on the flare.
It is all going along very nicely. Stay tooned! :D

I too have wanted to build a 959 rally replica out of a C4. Not sure how much it would cost. Probably too much for my serious consideration. I would like to see someone do it.

I will be putting a set of the Lindsay Racings wheels on it.
Mike and I were discussing them yesterday.
The fronts will be 9.5 x17 and 11x17 on the rear.
The tire sizes are gona be 255-40 in front and 315-35 rear
I now have the back spacing figured out it will be 6"
I still have to figure out the fronts.
I have to Waite on the front fenders getting done so I can get some numbers.

Don, that is nice work on that rear flare. One thing I don't have for this kind of work is the patience to perfect it. Out of curiosity, how much time was involved in doing that one rear flare?

Bodywork is deafly not for an impatient person.
Thats why I don't do it. ;)
Its not that I am impatient I just don't that much patience. :D
That fender to this point takes about 8-10 hrs to do it right.
But you have to match up the whole rear end before you can start to attach the fender.
