Boge struts
How do I know if I have Boge struts? I took a wheel off the other day and cleaned the grime off to reveal green Bilstein's. The struts are black. Should there be a marking somewhere?

Its a terrible pic but here is the general idea. Black Strut housing with a Green insert typically. Once you clean the strut it should have identifying marks like this.

The bilstein strut has a small roll pin that secures the strut. It is located just above the balljoing wedge bolt near the botton of the strut. It is the only strut that has it.

Okay, after I degreased the strut it turned out to be green not black. So I guess I have bilstein struts and shocks. Should be less expensive to replace the shock inserts now correct? I think I identified the roll pin also.

I do have a pair of sport inserts for sale in the classiffieds right now, 3 months old, about half the price of a new pair.....

I have coilovers and went to a revalved unit when I changed spring rates.
