Photoshop help needed- color combos
Ok, I need one talented/bored photoshop expert to help me out in chosing a color combo for my fan/shoud.
The motor is coming out next week and I figured I'd send the parts to a local powdercoater. I've narrowed my choices down to the following combos, but I am certainly open to new/better ideas from anyone. Choices: Ruby red metallic fan w/ silver metallic shroud Ruby red metallic fan w/ black shroud Ruby red metallic fan w/ gold metallic shroud Gold metallic fan w/ silver metallic shroud Gold metallic fan w/ black shroud Keep in mind my body color is black. I want to see a picture so bad, I even went to Barnes & Noble's to find "Photoshop for Dummies" but they did not have a copy. If someone could use the picture here to change the colors I'd really appreciate it.

There are a couple of tricky "masks" to draw to do the color changes you are asking so it is not a quick and dirty job. I cannot do it at work but if no one has by this evening I'll give it a shot.

Metalic gold? Of your choices, I would go with the Ruby Red fan and silver shroud. Sorry, I am the villiage idiot with computors so I can not help with the photoshop.

Thanks, Gary.
Also, if someone could just point me to some directions, I may even be able to figure it out on my own. I have Photoshop 7.0. Good greif, is it a complicated monster or what?

Yes, PS is quite a beast to learn but very cool once you get the hang of it. The only book I ever found useful was Photoshop Bible by Deke McClelland. Humongous book and way beyond what most beginners need to know.
stand by....

I ran across a photo of someone's motor with the ruby red/silver shroud.
I like it, I just wonder if it'd look a little odd on a black car? Perhaps, someone can make the car black in this photo? ![]() Thanks for hooking it up, Gary. You should see the mess I'm making right now in Photoshop.

Gary, thanks for taking the time to color the fan for me. I think I'll go with the ruby red, if the powdercoaters can get the shade I want. But I still think the gold would look good.
I think I should have clarified on the fan shroud. I meant the fan housing... I don't know why I call it a shroud. Thanks again! Oh, and here's where I got the idea for the gold fan from: It's from a factory poster. Speaking of posters... it's getting a little out of control over here... Mark, your motor is looking terrific! It's going to look great once you get it in.
