Don't Know Whether to get the Black or Red One

Decisions, decisions. They are both pretty nice.

Anyway, had an awesome tour given by Bruce Canepa of his old and new facilities this weekend.

For some photos of an incredible collection of cars check out http://lpr.pca.org/events/2005/20051022%20Canepa%20Design%20Tech/photos.htm

I heard Porsche actually discouraged buyers from ordering 959's in black due to the imperfections in the kevlar panels - but I can't see any evidence of that in those pics.

I'd take black over red any day.

Actually, according to Bruce, Porsche discouraged potential buyers from buying the 959's due to price. Apparently they took deposits for a whole bunch of cars, for an ultimate purchase price of $250k. Then they figured out that it was costing them about $400k to produce them. And this was the reason why Porsche ultimately did not push the US DOT to allow the cars into the U.S. It was the only way that they could get out of delivering the cars where they had accepted deposits. Ended up being less expensive to return the deposit money.

Man, that black 959 looks just awesome! I find it hard to believe how the 911 range has been developed to such an extent as to 959. Its a phenomenal machine, and is a far cry from the original 911 of 1964 or whenever if was! I reckon the 959 has to be the ultimate development of the 911.

I need a 959... badly!

I wish I had your problems, but if I did I kinda like the black as something different see them in red (in pics and mags not in person) a lot more often.
