One year ago now.... Since.."spark plug smashed..."

Hard to believe but tomorrow will be a full year since the following post..

Spark plug smashed severe..What came likely through/contact? How much damage?

Followed by a complete self tear down and OEM original parts rebuild through the fall-winter 04, following Wayne's rebuild book and the advice on this board.

With the completion in early spring, with the results as of this date, that the car is running strong, excellent compression.

......with highlights participating in the 2 Parade Laps at Mid-Ohio American LeMans Series in May, and the full usage of the car as a daily driver.

Rebuild:

All "new" heads polished/valves/valve guides OEM.
new chains
new tensioners
two (extremely hard to find) OEM 2.0E Mahle pistons.
One replaced OEM Biral cylinder (also a hard find)
All new rings
New bearings
new seals
complete new gasket rebuild kit
new rocker
new rocker arm RS "O-ring seals"
case and cam towers cleaned.
Cams timed
New points
New plugs
Oil filter
cleaned oil cooler
new return tubes and o rings

Thanks Wayne and members of this board for your contributions.

HGP would never tell us where he was. Now, we at least have a clue that he is near Ohio.

Glad everything worked out. I was worried about you.

Way to go H.G.P.!

Sure, H.G.P may be a little odd but look around on this board - see anyone who isn't a nut job?

Chris "Nut Job" and proud of it!
