its late and i can't figure this out, seatbelt is stuck won't release.

Hey All, well almost nearly complete with the RS carpet kit my 1978 SC. (with tons of help from Don911, thanks my friend).
however, after being in the garage all day, i think the fumes from the 3M glue have finally got me. one of the seatbelts (passenger) will not release tension. i cannot get it reinstalled because i cannot get the belt to pull far enough to reach the mounts. i can't seem to find a release on it anywhere.
exhausted and very frustrated
anyone have any clues (aside from the apparent brain damage i may have incured from glue inhalation).
Cheers,
Kyle.
i can't believe i'm asking this.......

Kyle,

You have to hold the retractor mechanism in the proper position. The latching function is gravity (G-load) sensitive.

Best,
Grady

make sure the belt mechanism is completely level. Sometime a slight angle (as I found out) can lock them up.
