Can anybody i.d. this??
My recent purchase has some interesting things going on, one of which is the exhaust. Certainly non-stock and so far unidentifiable:

the big canister under the heads right? im not 100% sure about 911s... but i know teh 76 911's had thermal reactors. on a 912E (which also had thermal reactors), thats where the thermal reactors are and what they look like, hense ill bet the farm those are thermal reactors for a 911.
thermal reactors were a smog thing, porsche put on their us cars at teh factory as part of their emissions stuff.. kinda like a precurser to a catalytic converter. its not an after market thing.

yeah, unless your car has to be smogged, you really dont wanna keep those on there. they are supposed to be bad ju-ju when it comes to the life of your engine. if you have to get smogged, keep em for when you need smogged, and get some headers to run when you dont have to do an emissions test.
i wouldnt necessarly throw em out either. if you decide to get rid of em, im sure there are guys in cali who need em, who would pay for em. if not that keep it incase next owner needs em.

The thermal reactors are stock but the "bend" is not since it lacks heating.
If you can, rip out those reactors and throw them as far as you can. They really hurt you engine and has probably already done so...

Good thing about Hawaii: no smog testing
