Last time I had my 964 corner weighted it weighed in at 3049 with half a tank of gas. 8 way Power seats, 5 speed, LSD, Sunroof, AC, partial leather, metallic paint, 17" wheels.

I think I have the solution-for me anyway. I love the classic 911 look, but crave the amenities and performance of a newer 911. I have looked at 993s and they are superior cars. However, I love the classic 911 look, which they lack. I can understand why the initial question was asked as I have had older cars and wanted new ones in addition to the old ones. Alas, I don't have the room for 2 911s. My solution (albeit far from an original notion) is to backdate a 964. I have done a lot of homework on it as regarding cars before the 964, but not so much for the 964 itself. As I understand it, the biggest difference is relocating the oil cooler and removing the newer, funky rocker moulding.
Any insights on this from the learned experts, Tyson, Bill, et al, would be most appreciated. I want to go from this- http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/9673/21122rr.jpg To this- http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1151801262.jpg Shuie-Ever get the 964? |

I'm in the process of backdating my 964. Instead of an RS or RSR, it'll be an R. Here's a mock up of my rear badge:
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1151998388.jpg I'm estimating a final weight of 2,500 - 2,600 lbs. when completed!! :D |
