Are Cab's. weatherproof? Buyer faq?

I'm looking at a mid 80's. Carrera cab, which I'm thinking of buying for a daily driver. It would have to be kept outside, both at home and at work. Being in the Pacific North Wet, it probably
won't see any snow, but a lot of (ocassionally heavy) rain, and
perhaps some freezing rain. Is it reasonable to expect the interior to stay dry? How well should the car be able to seal? Or is this a fool's folly?
Also, are there any particular things to look out for in a Carrera? I've read that the valve guides might be suspect, but that this could be caught during a thorough PPI? The car has 174k on it, so it is likely due for a top-end job or anything else significant?
I tried looking for a buyer faq, the ones I found have been very general.

Thanks!
P.S. If anyone has access to Carfax, I'd appreciate it!

I am selling my 86 Guards Red Cab...it has 138K highway miles and receipts for everything PM me if you are interested, Im in So Cal.

If the top is done right, then you should stay dry. The top on mine does not leak at all, even in a downpour.

I dont believe that valve guides would show on a PPI, as oil consumption would be the real key to disclosing significant wear.

My '87 Cab never leaked a drop and was surprsingly quiet. Also very stable at highway speeds...I was expecting buffeting or wind noise.

My '83 SC leaks where the top touches the small side windows. Just a few drips, but it would get old as a daily driver.

My cab, surprisingly, doesn't leak either. But, never had it in a downpour and I think the weather ( sun, rain, ice, & etc. ) would wear the top out in a hurry if left outside all the time.

Thanks guys,
I know it's not ideal, but unfortunately not much choice in the matter if I'm going to get one. At least it sounds like it is possible, if the top/seals are in good condition.
About the valve guides; I thought I read somewhere that worn guides could be checked by the amount of "wiggle" in the stem during the PPI, and that might be noticeable by amount of blue smoke on startup (and emissions). So there's no truth in that?
Sonic dB: I appreciate the notice on your Carrera, but I'd like to limit my search to somewhere close by; thanks though!

My cabriolet I have to roll down the passenger side window 1/4 inch to get the window to seat on the gasket right, then roll it up.

Any other cab owners have this problem? I've been meaning to try to adjust this but my efforts at adjusting stuff like this has been less than stellar.

Minor leaks....not a biggy. I consider the benefits versus the drawbacks.
