How do you keep your rotor hat from rusting?
While Ive got my rear rotors off how can I prvent the surface rust that uglifies the rotor hat. Is it as simple as prep and a couple coats of paint or clear?

a lot of cold galvanize sprays dry flat gray, just like OEM. it's funny, zimmerman makes the same rotors for both the dealer and aftermarket, and the dealer ones have painted hats and the aftermarkets are bare.

I dont know if you have taken care of your problem yet but check this out for future reference. You can also look up a product called "Por15" It is a brush on application that turns out smooth as glass. I have used many products from Eastwood and they work very well.
Here is the link. Hope this helps! Look at the bottom right corner of the page. http://www.eastwood.com/jump.jsp?itemID=994&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=706&iSubCat=994 .................................................. C ![]()
