It's great. I bought the first issue and a few more, but I have missed some (including the 928 issue).
I think its the best Porsche magasine around. I don't care much for other Porsches.... |

and the 996, it's like a 924, great value for the money but nothing more... |

Hey Total 911 guys...If you find somebody who stuffs a proper 911 motor in a Boxster or Cayman, will you give it an honest comparo to a new(er) 911? I think those cars are brilliant and could be the new "champion" at Porsche, if only they'd let them have the same guts as the 911s. Surely there have been enough people who have stuffed a 3.4 996 motor in an early Boxster. I'd love to see how "911 people" feel about a car like that. Would make a fun comparison. ...just a thought. :) Remember...the first Porsche was mid-engined and a convertible! :p |
Rob: Do you have any plan to sell the Total 911 magazine in Mexico ? Right now we only get at the newstands : Excellence from the US and 911 & Porsche World from the UK. And I enjoyed both of them , unfortunately as this forum states : There is a lot of advertising on Excellence something they need to Fix ASAP.

You have a lovely opinion…. But then I’m sure you’ve owned the Cayenne, Driven the Boxster and have had the pleasure of owning a 996……. And that’s the reason for expressing your opinions as such. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...oilet_claw.gif -Eli |

Australian fan chiming in also...
I've always been a fan of Porsche and 911 World (and the Brit Bike Mags); the writing and language is definitely a little better than the others. My 2c... I like just about all things Porsche (I'm seriously warming to the idea of a 914/6 which we never got in my country, and most consider ugly!), but the title of the magazine is "Total 911", not Total Boxter/Cayenne/924/928 etc... So I don't see how you can jab them for too much or biased 911 writing! |

Great mag!! Raby is a great editor. Has always written well. I have been a long time subscriber to GT purely and 911 p-world and have added this one as well. Keep up the good work.
The only thing that gets me mad is that they have the 964 and 993 RS models over there and not here. Dave |

The 911 has held up to the test of time. It's a great car.
But criticisms often have some bit of validity. Go drive a Bug or Karmann Ghia and then a 911 back to back and you'll see why critics call the 911 a Super Beatle from Stuttgart. I think my friend's '66 Bug shifted more smoothly than a 915. Ever drive a 928? It's nice to drive in a Mustang GT kind of way. Automatic tranny forces you to do neutral drops at stop lights. Hairdressers can't afford Boxters. Early ones were slower 0-60 than SCs. 996 designers were singing "Turning Japanesa" when they drew up the plans. The 924? Didn't it share its engine with the Vanagon or something? I used to drive my friend's '81 in HS. I had an RX7 that ran circles around it. I think the Vanagon was quicker. And at least the Vanagon had a cool propane powered fridge. 944? 924 on steroids. Rich parents bought them for their 16 year olds. Cayman? Boxter w/roof. Cayene? Calling all you soccer moms out there, please go pick up Junior and get some groceries... You can just go on and on. |
:D
I love the magazine! I've got every one so far published and pick them up from my local Borders Bookstore. I think the title says it all - Total 911! I personally am not that much of a fan of most other Porsches. So what? I think most of them are OK but they just don't get my blood boiling like a 911 (which includes the 996 and 997, btw). Sorry. I just don't understand why some people get so wound up because someone else doesn't like their car. Heck, there are millions of people out there that will never understand what I find so special about 911's and I could care less. To each his own, I say. Total 911, keep them coming, I say! |
I have been buying this mag online; for some reason none of the sellers here who carry Excellence, 911 Porscheworld etc stock Total 911.
Landed here it costs me NZD$17.50; ouch. But it is still worth it! Note to Editors; keep the Icon piece on the last page. I read a reader didn't like this but it is a good piece....I am waiting on my Linn turntable to arrive and I have resurrected my Zippo!! |
Regardless of the P car performance issues by model/yr, I say keep the early 911 stuff coming and let someone else start a Boxster or 928 magazine.
Keep up the good job. |

I don't have a problem with Porsche making a SUV, but couldn't they good looking!! Never owned a 996 either and I probably never will. Its a very, very, good car, great value for money. But its styling is boring and I think a 911 should be air-cooled and a bit lighter. I know I´m narrow minded, but it's my right bo be. :) |
