Yep! I'm watching all the boards (well, ok...these two). Can't wait to hear the first driver's review. Anxious to hear about a Ruf conversion!

No, never owned a Cayenne and I never will or any other SUV for that matter. But if there were only SUVs in the world I would look at a VW Touareg, thats almost the same car but with twice the look.
I don't have a problem with Porsche making a SUV, but couldn't they good looking!!

Never owned a 996 either and I probably never will.
Its a very, very, good car, great value for money. But its styling is boring and I think a 911 should be air-cooled and a bit lighter.

I know I´m narrow minded, but it's my right bo be. :)

I think you summed it up quite nicely......

One reply regarding boring on the 996? Wow, I've seen more changes in the interior then I've ever seen up until then. But like you said it's your right to be narrow minded. SmileWavy

What is L108 for two years in U.S. dollars? Is that about $10 per issue? It can't be that good!

I think I paid around $8.00 for the first issue.

Just ordered the current PLUS 5 back issues that were available.

I wonder how quick they can ship to my US address.

Thanks for the tip.

I look forward to picking up my first copy of "Total 911". I don't seem to be able to read enough about the 911. I know, it seems to be a quirky thing to be so fond of this car, in particular the air cooled varieties. For that matter, those are the only "true" Porsches in my mind - but that is only because I grew up with air cooled Porsches in Europe and when we couldn't afford one we would take a VW Bug, lower the rear, put on dual solex carbs and a noisy muffler and pretend we were driving Porsches! And harking back to a previous comment made here earlier, nowhere was the VW herritage more apparent to me than when I drove my very own 911 (a 1976 "S") in the rain for the first time - and all the windows steamed up shortly after take-off. Just like my beloved 25hp 1953 VW Beetle that I owned a looooong time ago! Yes, clearly, air cooled cars are part of my destiny! ;)

I looked at the issues to date and my one critique is for more detailed pictures.
