Front End Alignment Issues
I've had an ongoing issue with my front end alignment. It aligns perfectly on the machine, but when driven pulls to the left. We though the strut was bad so those were replaced. We though the bushings were dry and tight so they were handled. Nothing.
Now I'm working on a brake upgrade and discover the spacing on the top nubs of the caliper is perfectly even around the rotor, but the spacing on the bottom is way off to the point the outer nub hits the rotor on the drivers side. On the passenger side there is a similar issues, except not as bad and the nub doesn't hit the rotor. You would think it would be due to the caliper mounting bracket being torqued, but I can't believe it would be both sides. I''ve been comtemplating a change of a-arms and now I'm considering the struts. Ideas? Suggestions? Is there anyway to pin point better the cause of the pulling or caliper issues? TIA, John

I do,nt understand what you are describing .What is the nub ? To investigate your pulling issue have you tried changing tires from side to side? A tire can cause a pull even when alignment is perfectly the same on both sides.If the pull changes then you have a tire issue.

How good is this alignment shop, especially with 911's?

It's been aligned twice by the local p-car expert so I'm confident in the alignment. Tires have been rotated and wheels have been switched. The nubs I refer to are the tabes in the inside of the brake caliper, two towards the top and two towards the bottom.

If the caliper is crooked compared to the rotor you have either a bent spindle or a bent strut tube. I would expect any alignment shop to find this fairly easily.If a 4 wheel alignment was done the shop should also have been able to determine any thrust angle present and align to compensate for it. Perhaps you have a slight brake drag on one corner causing a pull?

I've seen improper corner balancing drive guys nuts with drive pulling to either side.

Ronin is right about corner balance. If badly off, the car will pull strongly.
Draging brakes can do this to. Can you post a picture of the brake issue.
