Hi I just replaced the torsion bar on the drivers side (rear) and the car raised up about 2 inches (the top of the tire and fender used to meet) I had to take the passenger side out to knock out the broken piece but I put it back exactly in the spot it came off. Is there some way to adjust this? I took them out and turned the bar 1 'notch' but this was too low. Am I doing something wrong? or is there another way to lower it?
Thanks ![]() |

You have to index the bars to adjust the height. There has to be lot's of information on this in the archives. The basic idea is that there is more splines on one end than the other so rotating the bar adjusts the ride height. You have to get both sides the same or you'll have an unbalanced car. The main check is to see that both spring plates "droop" the same amount when the car is jacked up. (The spring plates should be at the same angle in relation to the ground as each other.)

There is a "notch" on both ends of the torsion bar. You turn the bar one way and the cover (with spring plate attached) the opposite way for minor changes in height.
