How to clean wheel hub?
Hi Gents,
What is the best solution to clean 20yr old grime off a wheel hub? Simple green? Can I submerg the hub and let it soak?

Simple green is ok for quick surface cleaning but it will attack and eat aluminum if it is left soaking.
I like to use plain old keroscene to clean stuff like that. Then a can of brake cleaner for the final spiff

mineral spirits aka turpentine also works well and is safe for painted surfaces
