SHOW US YOUR 911 MAKEOVER (before and after project pictures)

I was reading another's thread today and it occurred to me that it would be interesting to see before and after shots on these various project cars. Like many other's cars.......the before and after differential is not sublte with my car's update / backdate story.

When I was searching for a project, I wanted a rust-free, smog exempt, early car. AND I had wanted the early wide-body style car. Dave from TRE helped me find this one and I decided to bring this one back full-circle, hence the update / backdate.

Like many, it was a victim of the 80s. Teal blue TURBO - Look. UGH...

BEFORE, a homely teal blue victim with paint that looked applied by brush:

Unfortunately, I only have 'before' pictures... and a couple 'during'... it will be a while before I have 'after' pics.

Before:

During:

She'll be driveable soon... then I will address the pans - complete interior strip to bare metal, maybe patch a few places, POR15, sound deadening material, and new carpet. Later I'll strip the undercoating off and do the underside of the car. Then a couple areas of bodywork will need to be done. Prep and paint will hopefully be done in the summer (debating a maaco job or do it myself... can't afford a real nice job, just want to make it look better... the paint right now looks like ass).

No way Matt, your car has "character" just the way it is. I wouldn't touch it!

Jeff,
Is your car the same yellow as the yellow on the "before" picture of the SC car?

All,
GREAT transformations! VERY COOL and LOTS of work!! I love the color or RDane's blue.

Doug

I started off with a 24,000 mile stock '95 purchased from a Dr. in SoBe. It had a gay, "supple" tan leather interior. Plus a 4x4 ride height, so what the hay, I drove it to Colorado in a blizzard and the rocks on the highway stripped the nice, shiny red paint down to the metal.

Then, I tore out the interior and replaced with new black stuff everywhere. A nice, new India Red paintjob made it look very shiny and awesome. 996 18" Carrera lightweight 5-spoke wheels, Bilstein HDs, H&R springs, new stereo, euro lenses, RS splitters in the front, got rid of those ugly bumperettes, and a few things I've forgotten about.
