Where do I find high speed 15" tires?
Okay Pelicans,
My sweet little 75 Carrera is in need of new skins. I've upgraded my brakes to help stop the new 3.2 and now need to add some sticky tires so I can take off with confidence. The problem I'm running into is there seem to be few Z rated or speed rated tires out there for 15" wheels (and "no" I don't want to give up my beautiful 7&8 Fuchs). Jeff recommends Toyo Proxies (T1r) but I have some concerns about the lower profile and 1" lower clearance I'll have with my already lowered Carrera. Any thoughts you can offer would be very helpful. Thanks

Hi Donny,
I use 15" BBS on my car for track events, and have done so for over 25 years. They are definitely available in the mass market. Try to get in touch with SCCA racers local to you who race Miatas, RX7, and such. They use 15" wheels and tires, and they'll know where the best place to get them is. You might also go to www.tirerack.com, and search for 15" DOT competiion tires. Many different manufacturers make such tires, with the newest one being Avon. All are street legal, and thus you can drive to and from the track.

I have the Toyo Proxies on a 72 911T, and am happy with them. They grip like crazy. They have a good waranty and they look pretty good too.
