Replaced the ol' sugar scoops today

Finally took the plunge and replaced the US headlamps and sugar scoops with Bosch H4's. Looks much cleaner now.

Clean, aero, brighter, and well integrated with the lines, as Ferry intended them to be.

Is it possible to replace the H5 headlights on 87-89 Carreras with H4 units?

If so, can you re-use the existing trim rings, or do you need to paint the new rings?

Thanks,
Ed

Thanks. I do take very good care of her, since she has been mine. But, most of the credit should go to the original PO who treated her to a restoration and engine rebuild.

sweet, best color for the early targas, actually I like the whole yellow family for the early ones.
this thread finally convinced me to put H-4's on my showroom relic 77 930.
this is the way they were intended to be, right?
(I did it to my 73 with no hesitatation to get rid of the chrome, but the 930 has that nice matching paint job on the trim rings.)

Yes, that's what everyone has said, that is the way it was intended. I've been thinking about it for awhile and finally decided to go ahead. If others are convinced in the process, than all the better.

very nice...who does the work on the car? Russ Kelso and ol' Hans Whitler (Spelling?) on the SE side of Albucrazy are both good wrenches. =o) Great place to keep an old 911 clean and dry...sure do miss that part.
