Can you use the Odyssey battery if you still plan to use the radio/cd player and your dashboard fans? (I know its more of a racecar battery but just curious). My car gets equal time between the track and street.

I thought Porsche put the batteries specifically in those two locations to aid handling. Infact, didn't Porsche or Porsche racers in the know add lead weight to those areas when the batteries were moved?

I would not move them if you don't have to.

from a strickly engineering stand point I would think that anything that brings in the center of gravity AND makes it lighter would be a benefit..

There are various sizes available. The very small batteries are more for racing purposes, but the larger ones offer substantial capacity and reserves. I installed two MC925, which is certainly overkill for driving in California. Even one would be fully sufficient. I like them not just because the reduced weight and more compact size, but because there is no risk of acid spill or corrosive fumes. They are also supposed to live longer than conventional batteries.
