Sweet, your single and no kids in college right? That's what I thought.

Scooter 12-20-2005 08:38 PM

Congratulations! Great looking car at a great price. :)

AbbyAk 12-20-2005 11:32 PM

That is fantastic. The 993 is very tempting, the only type that might some day pull me away from longhoods as well...

K. Roman 12-20-2005 11:33 PM

Dude! svonkampen! I'm really happy for you. Beautiful color, I got white! enjoy, but it's nothing like an early, just alot more comfy and fast...........!

3.6 911 12-21-2005 03:35 AM

very nice. i like the color and don't find it to be guido at all.

dickster 12-21-2005 03:43 AM

Lovely car and colour! ;)

I will put it at the bottom of my shopping list, after kids, wife, new house, holidays, etc, etc. ;) I guess in ten years I'll be able to get one! (or a 930).

livi 12-21-2005 03:47 AM

Congrats !

Talk about Merry Christmas !!!!

Blanco 12-21-2005 04:24 AM

Ho HO HOOO

Looky what Santy got you. :D

Congrats..

cubby911T 12-21-2005 05:22 AM

Very nice - congrats!!!

Are you going to put some Turbo Twists on it and maybe lower it a bit? Ooooooo......that would look sweet in combination with the somewhat usual (and nice) color :).

cubby911T 12-21-2005 05:23 AM

ooops.....correction above - meant "unusual" color (not usual!!!).

sorry!!

JBO 12-21-2005 06:16 AM

I like the color. It's different without being odd. Price sounds fair as well with the low mileage. Looks like you did well. Congrats!

JBO 12-21-2005 06:18 AM

PS - I agree with Matt. I've never liked the cup wheels, and the 993's ride a little high at stock height. However, I think it's harder to lower them as they have coil overs, don't they??

Danskman 12-21-2005 08:30 AM

Congrats!!! Beautiful car! I hope to be in your shoes by the end of next Spring.

johncarlos2003 12-21-2005 08:40 AM

color? whatever- i like it- i like any color on the world's greatest sports car- love the 993- nasty hips- re the turbo wheels, lowering etc- you can do that later on-- for now smile and get to learning the new, excellent car you have- congrats and happy holidays from a guy with an awesome low mileage 88 coupe who would also give away a friend or two to add a 993 to the stable! cheers.

SvK,

Congrats, man!!! She's a real beaute, and I love the less common colors! BTW, join us on the 993 board at Rennlist and we can, ahem, make a few suggestions on how to fall off the slippery slope . ...first order of business, suspension to lower and tighten up... :)

And don't forget to post pics!!!

The car, the color, the dealer you are buying from all look top notch. What an awesome experience it must be, congratulations.

I prefer the look of the 993s to the new ones (believe it or not) and look forward to the full pictorial of yours.

:p

That color is even better when you can see it in daylight. When I bought my 96 my wife wasn't sure about "turquoise". When it was unloaded from the transporter she immediately liked the color because it was much different than the white Carrera I had before. Porsche calls it turqoise green metallic on the body tag, but I just usually say it is blue green.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1135188439.jpg

svonkampen 12-21-2005 05:03 PM

thanx guys.......

Just got back from a ride ;-)

This is vvveeerrrryyyyyyyy different feeling from my lite, nimble '68L, feels heavier (duh), feels much quicker..........feels much more comfy.........and power is awesome...........

Found one snag thus far......the clutch seems to slip at full throttle 5500+ in 3rd and 4th at high rpm, dissengages and slips up to redline and then when I release accelerator, rpm then equalizes back to proper rpm for that gear and speed.

Thoughts?

SvK

See if you can get the sller to cover. The quicker you ask the more likely they'll give you some joy.

BTW, beautiful car.

wcc 12-21-2005 05:19 PM

Yeah, see if they will cover that. Hopefully, it's just an adjustment somewhere and nothing serious. They sound like a good dealer to work with, the worst they can say is no. But I don't think they will.

Plus we need pics of YOUR car now!!! :D
