congrats SvK on the new ride. bummer on the clutch. Put a set of speedline rims on it- just enough aggressiveness and bling to set it off
enjoy it! |
Hi SvK,
There is no adjustment ...clutch is toast. You simply need to replace it. You can, of course, replace with the regular clutch. Others, however, have replaced with the RS clutch and Lightweight flywheel. The plus is the car revs much faster as you ditch the heavier DMF (Dual-mass flywheel). The negative is the LWF tends to cause the '95 to stall as you approach a stoplight. Apparently the OBDI is not as "savvy" as the OBDII of the 96+ cars which compensates properly for the more rapid drop in RPMs. You can address this with adjusting the Idle Stabilizer Valve. Just a thought as I consider spending your money ;) As others have said, see if your seller will pick up the bill ...or at least a portion of it. Edward |
Sweet car!! I've always liked the 993. I was going to get one and decided to go with the 930, but it took me years to come to that decision.
I didn't read all the postings on this thread so maybe you already talked about it. But I'm was wondering if you did a PPI or test drive yourself before purchase? It seems like you or the PPI would have caught it before deal was closed. |
I'd call the dealer and tell them that the clutch is going and see what they say. I'm betting that their reputation is important enough to help you out with the repair.

I can assure you that the clutch is gone. I am almost done replacing mine in a '96 :) They seem to only last about 60K miles.
Great color! I had a '91 that was very similar, loved the unique look. Enjoy! |
def. call them and let them know- definitely- it's only been a day right?
