nology's and now it wont run!

i just installed a set of Nology hot wires on my 82 sc 3.0 this morning. went to fire it up and it runs like crap. re-checked all wire to cap placement and they were spot on. #one aligned with the rotor aimed to-wards the notch, then six ,two, four, three, five running anti-clock wise, pushed and twisted each lead into the cap to make sure of good contact. pulled all six off the plugs and pushed them back down until i could hear and feel the plug caps hit home. it runs like I've misplaced wires on the cap but i have checked it three times now. the plug ends are very difficult to push over the plugs and I'm thinking that this is my problem. I'm contemplating cutting the tips of the plug ends off as they really make you push hard to force then over the spark plug body's. has anyone else experienced this with these wires?

Assuming the car was running well before this, put the original spark plug wire set on, and run the car. If it runs well, switch the wires out one at a time to see if one of the new wires has a bad connection, or is just a faulty wire.

Same thing happened to me recently, turned out after checking the damn firing order three times I was off by two wires, then to add insult to that I had a bad wire that showed "0" ohms on my meter.

I would return those Nologys and run like hell.

My car, when I purchased it...had a 9 month old set of Nology "hotwires" on it. The ones with the grounds going to the valve cover nuts.

When I did my first spark plug change, immediately after purchasing the car....4 out of the 6 plug boot rubber ripped off and attached to the plug. When I tried to put the plug boots on as best as possible, the car was misfiring.

I sent the wires back to Nology, and after many emails...they promised to send me a new set.

Wrong... They lied to me... I got the same set back with new boot covers. And...they still didnt work... car kept misfiring.

I threw them in the trash and bought a set of Magnecore's which are awesome. Nology is just plain old crap / marketing hyped product that is cheaply constructed.

number 5! this thing felt 100%. with the car running i pulled each wire to see if it would change the way it was (running?) and when i pulled #5 it didnt change, so i really pushed as hard as i could when i reinstalled it and it finally started to run right. man you have to really use some leverage to get these wires on correctly!!! but it runs great again! thanks everyone!

I'm glad you solved your dilemma. One of the worse feelings is you try to do a repair or upgrade, then having the car run or perform worse than before.

On a side note, be careful touching electrical components such as plug wires and coil wires when you have the ignition turned on, or the car is running. Years ago I learned that lesson the hard way
