I have to ask, because all my attempts have failed at the footwell thing, BUT for an 87 with manual heat and real blower delete this jumper in the silver box in the rear is the fix for FW control?

Jerry, yes! If the blowers work when power is directly applied to them you should be good to go with the mod. Also check the inline fuses. Did the system work before you removed the rear blower?

yes all is/was well, tried some other things, jumpers and such, nothings worked right yet. I'll get after it tomorrow. Thanks to whoever discovered it. I've been messing around with it for over a year. I hope this works.
this might be better than christmas morning. |

I just wanted to say THANKS to all, it works great.
I sure beats the heck out of having to put the rear blower back in every winter just to get the footwell's to work.

Do you guys think I should pull all the info together and re-post this as an "engine compartment controller mod" or "Carrera Footwell Blower Mod" ? Or just let it live in this thread?

Hey Ron,
I think it would be a great idea to write it up as a tech article for submission to Wayne as an inclusion to the tech section of the site. Let me know if you need any help with pictures, proofreading, etc. Thanks again for the great work! ianc

ok I am having a go at installing the blowers into my 75 911S...I have the schematic about 95% done...just one question in reguards to the 1987 Porsche Resistor and it's 3 wires. The white wire would connect to the blowers + connection and the Whi/Grn and Whi/Blk would connect to the multi position switch. Also connected to the multi position switch is a + from the battery (ign-switched source). Anything I am missing?
